Our vision
St Matthew’s Hope Centre has been carefully designed to be a Centre of beauty, excellence, and communal benefit. Our vision is that this new Centre will be at the heart of our island community, for the community, serving the community and all who come to visit our world-renowned Church, with its Lalique Glass.
We believe our new Centre will be a community of:
FAITH:
Nurturing and encouraging the value of identity and worth, through voluntary and employment opportunities,
resourcing training and equipping for life, and creating the safe space to explore faith in God.
HOPE:
giving support and care to all who are sick, hurting, vulnerable, and in need.
Offering counselling, healing, and hope-filled activities that restore people’s hope and wellbeing.
LOVE:
serving our community in a variety of ways, to demonstrate the love of God, and our love for all in our community, local and abroad.

Our aim
The impressive design of the new Hope Centre allows for flexibility and multi-use, that will overflow into our newly created Hope Garden. We will be offering facilities such as:
Café
open daily, for all to enjoy both the inside and outside atmosphere of calm and peace, as well as offering meals to those in need of care, help and friendship.
Private Meeting rooms
used for counselling and support, to address some of the island mental health issues of depression, addictions, and suicides, as well as some of the social concerns, such as poverty and neglect. We will also be offering parenting and marriage courses.
Break-out rooms
used for children and youth groups, after-school clubs and events.
Hall
used in a variety of activities, such as parent and toddler groups, exercise classes, support partnering with service in our community and working with other charities, training and conferences.

Your support is needed
We believe this is a timely and unique opportunity for the island to create and develop a Centre that offers and brings ‘Hope’, especially to those who need it most.
A Centre that is for the community, in the community and serves the community to meet the needs of our island community, partnering with other services, and playing an important part
in addressing some of the key issues in our society, including health (mental, physical and spiritual) and wellbeing.
We are asking for your help and partnership as with build the Hope Centre together.
