We are looking for someone who loves God and has a passion to see his children experience fullness of relationship with him through faith, fun and fellowship. If you have a vision to see the Kingdom of God revealed in the Church and through the Church into the wider community, come and join us at St Matthew’s.

The Role:

With a remit to oversee our current teams and ministries, as well as pioneer new ways to reach our community, we are recruiting for a role from 16-24 hours per week depending on the successful candidate’s experience and vision.

We value the Youth & Children as a key part of our Church and community. Our vision for then Youth & Children’s Ministry is to be a safe meeting place of discovery, learning and above all, a fun and exciting place where they want to be.

Our Youth and Children’s Ministry exists to Enrich the lives of our young people through the understanding of God as Father, developing a friendship with Jesus and Experiencing the Holy Spirits presence and power day by day.
Our aim is to Equip them with the Biblical knowledge, Spiritual gifts and an understanding of the Father’s heart for their lives; to Enable them to reach their full potential as a disciple and to Encourage them in their walk of faith.

WHO’S ONBOARD?

Little Lambs

We want to see the babies and toddlers at St Matthew’s know God, know the Bible and to see their faith grow. Jesus is our Good Shepherd; we are His sheep, and our children are His lambs.

Little Lambs is our 0–3-year old Creche group that we have on a Sunday morning. Little Lambs is located in the Prayer Room at Church for you and your baby with toys, a play mat and comfortable seating This is a safe and secure space to meet other parents and allow your little one to enjoy playing with other children.

Little Lambs is open at the start of the service for when you and your little one would like to go. In the Prayer Room, we have a TV which relays the service so you can continue to enjoy the worship.

However, at any point, little children go into Little Lambs for some singing, bible story and lots of playing.

Mighty Lions

We want to see the children at St Matthew’s be mighty in the kingdom, through the power of the Holy Spirit!

Mighty Lions is our Reception and KS1 children’s group (4–7-year-olds) that we have on a Sunday morning. Mighty Lion sessions are held in the Old Vicarage behind the Church. We stay in Church for the first song, and are led with the leaders to the Vicarage where the sessions begin. In our group, we have worship, dance, games, puppets, a variety of activities and explore with crafts. We also practice praying in each session and practice building confidence in our prayer time.

Soaring Eagles

We want to see the children at St Matthew’s soaring in all that they do, in faith, in their gifting and in their everyday life.

Soaring Eagles is our KS2 children’s group (7–11-year-old) that we host on a Sunday morning. Soaring Eagles sessions are held in the Old Vicarage behind the Church. And like Mighty Lions, Soaring Eagles are led out to the Vicarage after the first song in the Main Church.

In our group, we have worship, games, dramatisations, a variety of activities and explore with experiments and crafts. We also strongly believe in building confidence in our prayer time.

Curriculum

We run a term-to-term Youth & Children’s Rota so that we know months in advance what the plan and teaching will be. This gives us lots of time to prepare and to invest in what might be needed for the sessions such as props or craft materials.

Curriculums can either be a known published curriculum or can be self written.
